Electric Violin

An instrument that will match every performer’s meticulous wish. All of them, at once and can be called the perfect one. The problem could not be solved until it is defined and resolved by the one who shares the same struggle.

Are you looking for an electric violin but not sure which one to buy?
Or would you like something more exclusive and individually tailored just for you, so it will respond in the same way as your acoustic violin?
I had the same problem, I could not find the perfect one. So, I had to make it!

My name is Aleksandre Khatiskatsi. I am a second-generation luthier and violinist. My father, who is a luthier and works at Tbilisi State Conservatoire in Georgia, and my mother was a violinist, and worked in the Philharmonic Orchestra in Tbilisi. I am currently working in the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.

This electric violin is made by the violinist for the violinist.

The process of making this electric violin was all hand-crafted. No machine was used while making it. The varnish is the same quality, alcohol-based one, that we luthiers would apply on a regular acoustic violin.

The body part of the instrument is made of one piece of beechwood. I have chosen beech wood for its characteristics:

Beechwood has a gorgeous pattern that is revealed after varnish is applied.

It is a strong wood, but not very heavy.

The final shape is made almost like a sculpture. Then, the neck and scroll are made of maple, as must be on a violin, and glued to the instrument’s body.

By the way, the chinrest is also made by me and from beechwood.
