I had an amazing experience with Aleksandre Khatiskatsi! Not only is he an extremely professional and intuitive luthier, but also a very friendly and helpful person.
He did a wonderful job on my violin, including cleaning, sanding the fingerboard and restoring a small part of the frog, that was broken. He also made sound adjustments, moving the bridge and soundpost and finding the right strings for my instrument. I trusted him on that, knowing that he is a great violinist himself, and I was not disappointed. My violin never sounded better!
I got my bow rehaired by Aleksandre as well and I can highly recommend it! Afterwards, he also gave me valuable advices, that I will definitely use.
Thank you, Aleksandre!

I’m very pleased with the chinrest Aleksandre built for me.
The craftsmanship is excellent, and his thorough understanding of the physics of playing makes him able to offer invaluable insights in the development process.
Indeed, we ended up in a quite different place than I first had thought, and the result was all the better for it.
As a bonus he adjusted my set-up and gave the instrument a (much-needed) cleaning. I give Aleksandre my warmest recommendations!

Aleksandre repaired a violin I bought at auction, which was in horrible condition. I was shocked by the result of his work when picking up my violin! The violin looked gorgeous, all the cracks repaired with precision, the new sound post, but most importantly he made it sound great! Aleksandre is very patient and puts a lot of love into his work! Highly and warmly recommended!!

Aleksandre is knowledgeable and passionate about the art of restoration, and full of interesting historical knowledge. He was very happy to clearly explain details of his process in the restoration of an 18th century instrument. Aleksandre converted this violin to a baroque setup, and ensured that it was in stable condition. It now plays extremely well, better than I could have imagined and I am enjoying this violin more and more, thank you, Aleksandre!
Also Aleksandre did a brilliant assessment of my modern violin. I have always struggled with my instrument, a beautiful modern violin by a well-regarded American maker. Owing to Aleksandre’s skills as both a luthier and a performer, he was able to recommend changes to the bridge, tailpiece, and soundpost that I hadn’t been recommended before. I’m incredibly glad to have brought in my instrument!!

Aleksandre is a fantastic violin luthier! His care and dedication for the instruments and their quality is incomparable to any other luthier I have met before. His work is very precise and refined. He took care of a violin I tried to sell for years, and little after he fixed it, it got sold! Also, he regularly rehairs my bow and takes care of my violin (checking it for any cracks, checking the soundpost and bridge position, sound adjustment, cleaning), because he’s the only luthier I fully trust.
Each time I pay him a visit with a concern about my violin, I know I will be welcomed with patience and a friendly approach. Giving the fact that Aleksandre is a violinist himself, playing actively in an orchestra, he always understands perfectly all the concerns I had so far. I would recommend him to any musician who likes to have their instruments in a perfect shape.
